It is a bond that we brothers should all feel. We all joined for the same
purposes, such as to better the music department and all bands. I get a
strong sense of brotherhood when attending Precints and Districts. People
from different schools and backgrounds all gather for a weekend to accomplish
something at these conventions. It is like a huge family gathering and that is
why I enjoy going to the conventions. I can trust my fellow brothers, bond
with them, and know that I will be taken seriously when discussing important
issues.
>2. How have you benefitted from being a Brother of Kappa Kappa Psi?
>
I have met a lot of interesting people from other chapters in the nation, not
just at the District level. My high school band director was in TBS and we
had a lot of stories to share about KKPsi and TBS. I can walk up to any
brother, not just at Lehigh, and know that we are good friends and talk with
them. I'm sure that if I run into problems, I can trust brothers to help me
get through them.
>3. What aspect of your Membership Education was most memorable?

The learning process itself was the most memorable. I wanted to know all
about KKPsi, so I studied the MEP book and made it a point to memorize as much
as I could even if it wasn't asked of me to do so. I can remember almost
everything that happened during MEP because I had such a great time preparing
to a brother of KKPsi.

I learned what brotherhood was all about. Not only did I learn what KKPsi was
about, but I bonded with my MC class. We all had to struggle through MEP. We
all studied together for the quizzes, we all planned the social and service
projects, we all participated in our projects and had a great time. The gamma
class got high off the fumes at Tuba Polishing in the loft and we had fun
bonding with the older brothers at our picnic. I feel very close to my MC
class because we went through so much to get here together.
>5. Does being a Brother of Kappa Kappa Psi benefit you musically?
>
As far as playing skills, I don't see how being a brother of KKPsi can improve
your music abilities. But being in KKPsi does show off how much you want to
improve the music department. It might help to get an exec position in the
band because other musicians will know that you are sincere about improving
the organization you are in. But as far as me personally, KKPsi would have
probably benefitted me more if I were as close to the music department as I am
with my academic departments.
>6. What kind of relationship do you have with your Big Brother?
>
I did not know my big brother before accepting my bid to KKPsi. But we ended
up talking and bonding throughout MEP. I can say that we are good friends but
not as close as could have been if she hadn't graduated the semester I became
a brother. But if we ever meet again, I would like to get to her know her
better.
