mhj3 09/05/00 00:47 Meeting Minutes for 9/4/00 Meeting
“Minutes” for the MEP Committee meeting on Monday, September 4, 2000 Brothers Present: Michelle (chair), Eudora, Jeff, Rachel, Chris Argall, Brina, Mike, Brian Hetsko, and Brian Green A. MEP Committee Delegates 1. Members of the MEP Committee were chosen to attend meetings of the other committees to establish liaisons between the groups in case business should arise before the chapter meeting. Delegates are as follows: i. Service: To be Determined ii. Social: Rachel iii. Fundraising: Jeff iv. Awards: Brian Green v. Jurisdiction: Jeff and Brian Green (an, on occasion, Michelle) B. Purposes 1. Discussed possible ways to make the purposes of Kappa Kappa Psi more than just words. 2. Round table discussions of each purpose will occur at the meetings. 3. We will be holding a poster contest advertising the fraternity, what we stand for, and who’s responsible for it being here at Lehigh. i. Posters must be made in groups – NO individually-made posters will be accepted. Each group must have members from DIFFERENT classes, meaning there cannot be a group with two Gammas or three Epsilons and one Zeta. The point is to work closely with Brothers you may not know as well as others in order to foster a stronger sense of Brotherhood within the chapter while promoting membership at the same time. ii. Since particulars about the first information session have not be settled yet (ie. date, time, location, etc.), groups should leave room for that information to be filled in later. iii. The winning poster/flyer shall be chosen by the MEP committee during the committee meeting following the deadline (one week from today). This deadline will allow time for arrangements to be made and posters/flyers to be printed. iv. The winning group shall receive a FREE Precinct shirt and FREE pizza and soda. C. Marketing (if you will) 1. Ideas were discussed for events promoting Kappa Kappa Psi to the music ensembles other than the Marching 97 in order to bring those members closer together and to foster a sense of unity among the groups 2. Once rehearsal times are obtained for all the “eligible” groups, arrangements will be made to have Kappa Kappa Psi sponsor something after rehearsals, such as soda and cookies. 3. These “break” sessions will lead up to a larger social/promotional event later on in the semester BEFORE the first information session. D. Mailing 1. Ideas for the mailings to the members of all the “eligible” music ensembles were discussed. 2. Brina made a suggestion to have the mailing be postcard size so more people would be likely to read them. Next meeting: Monday, September 11, 2000 at 8:00PM. 473 Montclair Avenue. AFTER the Brotherhood Dinner. ---------------------- Michelle Judd Psychology, Music, '02 (610) 997-5686
