mhj3 09/12/00 03:25 Minutes from 9/11/00 Meeting
Brothers Present:
Michelle (chair), Chris Argall, Rachel, Jeff, Brian Hetsko (before feeling of
"ickiness" prompted him to leave), Eudora, and Brian Green.
All of this information will be reiterated at the chapter meeting on 9/14/00.
I. Information Sessions
A. Dates for information sessions have been established. The first
information session will be held on Monday, October 23 at 7:00PM. The second
information session will be held on Wednesday, November 1 at 7:00PM. The
locations for these sessions have yet to be determined. They will both last
approximately 1 hour.
B. My plan for these information sessions is to have a member of each
class, starting with a Founding Father and ending with a Zeta, if possible due
to the time of the sessions, participate in a panel discussion about the
fraternity. Each panel member will discuss BRIEFLY (no more than 5 minutes)
about their experience as an MC and their hopes for the future of the
fraternity. This will, hopefully, give the prospective members an insight as to
the progression this fraternity has made over the years. I will be contacting
the alumni to see if it is possible to have representation from every class.
If you are interested in being your class rep, please sign the sheet that will be passed around, indicating which meeting you would prefer to participate in.
C. If there is time at the end of the panel discussion, we are going to try
to have some type of social event. Eudora suggest playing a music game she has.
But, we are open to suggestions from the fraternity. Please email them to me
at mhj3. If we do decide to have a social event at these sessions, the event
will be advertised on the flyers in addition to the date/time/location
information.
II. Bigs
A. I realize that it's still a little early for this, but if you are
interested in becoming a Big this year, let me know. I want to get a rough
idea of how many people are interested. As it has worked in the past, for
clarification, graduating seniors are offered the opportunity to become Bigs
first so their family trees do not die. After all the graduating seniors are
asked, Brothers will be asked according to class. Zetas are not eligible to
become Bigs until they have been an Active for one full year, unless they are
graduating.
B. Based on Eudora's suggestion for a chapter retreat, I was thinking of
planning a mini-retreat for those interested in becoming Bigs to "train" them
on what's expected of them and to give them ideas as to how they can help their
Little through the MEP process. Plans for this have not been finalized as I am
still trying to hammer out a master plan.
III. The next MEP committee meeting will be on Monday, September 18 at 6:00PM
at 473 Montclair (living room). The meeting will let out in time for Game
Night in the Warren Square E lounge.
