Members, Friends, Supporters...
On Friday and Saturday, August 4th & 5th - the Lehigh Valley Knights have
been INVITED by DCI to assist them in the running of DCI East at J.Birney
Crum Stadium. In return, LVK will be permitted to set up a information table
and we will be handing out our audition information for the 2001 Season.
Obviously, this is an important event for our organization. Every interested
local High School & College kid will be at those shows. We are asking for
members, family, friends and supporters to participate by giving their time
both day's. Members are need to serve as ushers, people to hand out flyers,
and people to sit at the table. You may bring friends and family along with
you. Obviously, by doing this you will get into both shows for FREE.
Here is the Information you need to plan your schedule:
Friday, August 4, 2000 - Members will need to meet 4:30pm in front of the
lower main gate. We must enter as a unit. Gates open at 5:15pm and the show
begins at like 6:30pm or so...
Saturday, August 5, 2000 - Members are asked to meet at 3:00pm in front of
the lower main gate. We will be getting a "clinic" by Phantom Regiment at
3:30pm. This will give us a opportunity to see how the Division 1 corps do
it. We will then work as ushers, etc. after the clinic.
At our table we will be displaying our new "LOGO" for 2001, as well as
Audition Camp Information. Camps will be held on November 3-4 (Friday night
sleeping over and practicing till Saturday Night), November 17-18 (Friday
night sleeping over and practicing till Saturday Night), and December 9-10
(Saturday morning till Sunday Evening, the corps will perform in a parade on
Sunday Evening). All Camps will be held at KidsPeace School (1650 Broadway,
Bethlehem, PA). They have extended an inventation for us to use their gym
and class rooms to rehearse for the winter months. Additionally, the indoor
swimming pool will be available to us for occasional use (do I hear brass
rehearsal in the pool? lol).
With our show picked for next season already... our theme will be... LVK
2001... Ready to Battle!... The Show will include...Wizzards & Warriors, The
Battle, Willow & First KNIGHT! We will remain a weekend only corps with two
mini-tours being planned.
Our goal is to have EVERY person with information in their hands about our
organization that weekend. Obviously, it would be nice to field a full 128
member corps. We CAN DO IT... Recruit one member at a time... Let's make our
first season on the field a memoriable one... Obviously, it has helped that
we have had this season to plan our future. Thus, things will be much more
organized and professional. Also members and "helpers" will be given our NEW
Lehigh Valley Knights Shirts to wear.
Please email me back as soon as possible about your attendance to those
events and if you are bringing any family or friends (we are looking for
about 30 people each night).
