Usenet 09/04/00 14:32 committee meeting

From: Heather Belaus

Fundraising Meeting held 2:30 pm, Sunday, September 3rd.
Brothers present (in no special order): Heather (chair), Lauren, Nick, Chris
Clark, Kitti, Hoff, Jeff, Chuck

I just wanted to reiterate everything from our meeting last Sunday, and what
I have done so far:

1) Car wash
Proposed dates: Sunday, September 17, Sunday, October 1, sometime in the
afternoon.
We would prefer September 17, if we can work that quickly. I emailed
the Dean of Students today, and hope to hear back from her soon. If the
17th is a go, we will have a fairly lengthy meeting Sunday at 2:30 to
make posters and discuss all other details.

2) Pie in the Face contest
I emailed the execs and am waiting to receive their approval. We will
begin ASAP, and continue until sometime in November, when we will
announce the winner and begin a raffle for throwing the pie. The pie
will probably be thrown Lehigh-Lafayette weekend.

3) Service Auction
The proposed time is 3pm, Sunday, October 29, making it easier for
alumni to attend. I emailed Juan, Social Chair, and Jeff spoke to him
also about having a chapter dinner afterwards, and am waiting to hear
from him.

4) Selling bookstore items at football/basketball games
I would like to go speak to someone at the bookstore tomorrow afternoon,
and discuss this idea at chapter meetings. We would need non-marching
band members and honoraries and other members of the music department to
sell during half time. If the chapter agrees, I will contact
honoraries, as well as Professor Sine. Rachel and I were talking after
class today, and she also suggested maybe we could recruit people from
wind ensemble and other band groups. Does anyone know if vendors get
free admission to games, it would be a good way to get people to help?

We have also proposed ideas for the spring, such as a 50/50 raffle or raffle for
free dinner.

The next meeting will be Sunday, 2:30pm, Brodhead 204.
